….but we all know how that ends: We don’t study until the last possible second. Oh, wait. You don’t do that? Well, I do. And I would probably get better grades if I studied sooner… like right now. But instead, I suddenly felt the urge to clean and organize my room, my car, and my purse (which was filled with tons of receipts) and then I decided to blog because I thought that my website has been neglected as of late.

And now I’m reminiscing about Hawaii and all the fun I had there. With school and work on my plate, daydreaming about vacationing anywhere (even somewhere thats a couple hours drive away) is the closest I can get to relax.

As I was looking back on my Hawaii photos, I remembered the coolest thing I did there: go to a farmers market. I know it doesn’t sound THAT cool, but for someone that only does the touristy things and stays in downtown Waikiki and drinks and tries to tan all day, this was quite the experience.

At first I was like, “uhhhhhh…” because the only farmers markets I’ve been to were in downtown LA at The Grove and in Santa Barbara every Tuesday. This was straight up a FARM and it was AWESOME.
I got to pick out which coconut I wanted. I also got to watch a grandma hack it with a weapon with no facial reaction.

It was so intense, I swear.

They poke a straw through it and then you can drink ice cold coconut water, and after you’ve finished the water.. they hack it some more and give you the coconut meat to eat. Nothing goes to waste here!

It takes some getting used to, but its not too bad.

You don’t have to eat all of it at once, in case you were wondering….

In addition to fried bananas (not pictured because bananas are gross) and corn (also not pictured because I wanted to watch someone murder a coconut), they have pickled mango and starfruit! I’ve never tried starfruit nor have I ever seen one in person, so that was a must.

TA DAH! its actually shaped like a star!
….and that concludes my farmers market experience in Hawaii. I wish I knew where it was located, but I am not local and I’m pretty sure that the site doesn’t have a physical address…and I’m 100% sure that there isn’t a phone number that you can reach them at.
